Comment Policy
When you want to leave a comment you will be asked for your name, e-mail address and website. This is done the first time you post a comment in an attempt to do two things. First, and most importantly, I want to make this a family friendly Blog that you can allow your children on without worrying about someone using foul and abusive language. Secondly, I want to control the hated SPAM as much as possible. You don’t really want to read twenty comments about Viagra in order to read a legitimate comment.By asking for your name and e-mail address, both of which are mandatory, my software is able to remember that you are a real person and that you don’t abuse the system. This information is kept private and will never be sold, given away or used in any way except to control access to the comments or for me to contact you with something you should know about. I will only contact you in order to keep you abreast of something important. Your e-mail address will not be shown on your comment or any other way.
Your first comment will be reviewed by me prior to it being posted. After I approve your comment it will be displayed and from that date on you will be recognized by my software and your comments will be displayed as soon as you submit them. Your web site address is not mandatory and really is to your benefit in steering traffic to your site. If you don’t have a web site, or don’t want to list it, that’s OK.
After you post a comment you will be able to edit it for about 30 minutes. If you’re having a bad day and say something bad about your boss, and then wish you hadn’t, you have 30 minutes to fix it. If you really put you foot in it, and don’t get it fixed in time, send me an e-mail and I’ll do my best to help you out. You will have to provide me with the e-mail address you used when you logged in the first time so I will know it is in fact you.
I attempt to read all comments and reply to those that ask questions. If I read a comment that, in my opinion, is in bad taste, abusive or not family friendly I will edit it or remove it completely. I would rather offend a few people that feel it necessary to use foul language than to allow children to read it on my Blog. If you find anything that you feel is bad enough to be edited, let me know by e-mail to Robert(at)RM-Jones.com , and I will review it again. My decision is final. Sorry. If you can’t keep it clean then I will. This is not to say I will edit something that simply disagrees with me or someone else. I won’t. That is a debate and I welcome it.
Another thing that I should address regarding comments is if the comment must address the original post and/or comments. No, it doesn’t. I know that some Blogs only want comments that relate to the original post and it’s comments. I don’t care. If you want to talk about something, feel free to do so. I would prefer that you don’t go too far afield but that doesn’t matter either. If there is something you want to talk about please let me know by e-mail and I’ll try to bring it up in a future post. If I don’t know anything about the subject I’ll say so and you and the other readers can inform me. I’m trying to make this Blog a two way street. However, if you just can’t wait till then, leave a comment anywhere. I’ll find it.
I hope you find all this to you satisfaction and will leave comments as often as possible.
Enough said. I hope you’ll find my ramblings interesting and have a good time during your visits. You also might give my web site a try at www.rm-jones.com . I have a lot of things there and it is growing every week.
Have A Great Day
